Citizen science is a popular method for involving the public in scientific research. Numerous such projects take place in Slovenia. They are often difficult to find because they are scattered across the websites of universities, institutes, professional associations, and organisations.
Who can become a partner in the Citizen Science Network?
Anyone – both organisations and individuals – who wish to express their support for citizen science can become partners. We especially invite those who would like to participate actively:
– as project leaders/implementers in citizen science projects;
– as organisers of events (for example, popular science lectures) or different training;
– as promoters or developers of citizen science;
– as providers of open infrastructure.
At the SIAE, we began implementing citizen science campaigns in 2022 as part of the Climate Goals and Content in Education project. As for adult education, the second and third campaigns are already underway this year. In the first campaign, we observed pollinators in sunflowers; in the second, we recorded solitary bee nesting sites using audio technology. This summer, we observed pollinators of apple trees.
