In February, the EAEA published an updated version of the Manifesto for Adult Learning in the 21st Century: The Power and Joy of Learning, while we now also have a Slovenian translation.

They have updated the 2016 version , added new examples and an invitation to policy-makers to take concrete action that will improve the quality of life of adults. The adult’s feeling of power and the joy of learning is continuing to strengthen.

In this publication, the EAEA and its members, draw attention to the challenges in AE that are exhibited in nine key areas: Active citizenship and democracy; Health and wellbeing; Life skills for individuals; Social cohesion, equity and equality; Employment and work; Digitalisation; Migration and demographic change; Sustainability; Adult education and European and international policies. We enhanced them with Slovenian examples: we present the research, examples from the practice and experience of the participants gathered by the SIAE. The Slovenian version of the Manifesto has already been published on the website of the EAEA.

According to our experience with both versions, the Manifesto is an excellent tool for adult learning advocacy work.
