Validation of all prior learning
On 26 October, the Norwegian national support service EPALE organised an international web conference on validating prior learning.
It is the entry point to adult education and training. Nordic experts in validating prior learning from different levels of education presented the various tools and methods they use in their work.
The final discussion of the programme focused on the barriers and challenges professionals face in validating prior learning and the opportunities this offers to improve access to learning and education.

7th EPALE Regional Conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina: the European Year of Skills
On 9 and 10 November, the 7th EPALE Regional Conference took place in the framework of the EPALE 2022–2024 project. Hosted by the National Support Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was organised in cooperation with partners from Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.
Around 100 participants from all participating countries, including practitioners, decision-makers and other V stakeholders, gathered in the ski resort Jahorina. The conference focused on EYS, namely the exchange of good practices and the strengthening of the regional network in this field.
The event was attended by ten Slovenian representatives working in public institutes and institutions that have contractual agreements with EPALE Slovenia. In the plenary session, Zvonka Pangerc Pahernik, MSc, of the SIAE, presented the EYS initiative and Slovenia’s efforts in this direction. She emphasised the purpose of this European campaign: to organise events in order to raise awareness about the importance of skills and amplify existing political and professional measures in this regard. Brigita Kruder, MSc, of Slovenska Bistrica AEC, took part in a round table on skills for life. She discussed the challenges and opportunities arising from the introduction of green skills in the ALE organisation. Both contributions received an excellent response.
