Guidance activity at the job fair

ISIO Centre Postojna provided information and guidance on educational opportunities and career planning and development to jobseekers, young people and employers.

On 14 April, the Postojna AEC took part in a job fair organised by the Koper Regional Office of the Employment Service of Slovenia in the Arena Bonifika. A record number of over 70 exhibitors presented opportunities for education, employment and career development to visitors from the border regions of Slovenia, Italy and Croatia.

With excellent attendance and lively bustle, typical of people’s openness in the coastal region of Slovenia, we presented to visitors the support provided by guidance as a public service to adults who decide on education, vocational  up- and re-skilling or career and personal development. We conducted short guidance interviews, demonstrated the use of professional tools, which make it easier for users to think about their future path, and encouraged a different view of their current situation with creative tools. We participated in presentations on deficient professions and showed the paths leading to them. The interest was overwhelming. Fortunately, enough counsellors were available to meet the wishes of all visitors. In addition to guidance, the PLYA programme was also presented at the fair under the Postojna AEC’s auspices. It attracted a lot of interest among the younger unemployed.
