From 17 to 20 April 2018, the VI International Andragogical Symposium was held in Biograd na Moru (Croatia), the scope of which included the 4th regional conference Building Bridges in Adult Education. It was attended by delegations from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo. Both events were organised by the Croatian Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (ASOO).
The aim of the Conference was to provide an overview to the current situation in adult education in the participating countries, to allow an exchange of experiences and to research options for future collaborations in adult education in the region.
The main topics of the Symposium were lifelong career guidance for adults and use of IT technologies to improve the operation of institutions in the field of adult education. More than 100 participants from 11 European countries listened to the rich symposium programme, and even more watched it live on YouTube.
The Symposium began with introductory speeches by Mile Živčić, the ASOO director, and a representative of the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. The first day continued with plenary lectures while the second day was reserved for workshops. The lectures were held by experts in the field of Adult Education who tried to transfer their experiences and present new knowledge and findings. They provided the participants with new knowledge in the field of adult education to help them with their further work. You can see the lectures here.
