GROW Your Own Tree project focuses on sustainability and community development by involving long-term unemployed adults. The lead partners are Slovenia’s Development and Education Centre Novo mesto and Italy’s PRISM Impresa Sociale.

At a meeting in Sicily, 30 best practices of self-sufficiency from Slovenia and Italy were identified, and they are now available online to the general public. Examples include a Common Learning Garden in Ljubljana, where the local community collaborates on gardening, and the family farm Azienda Agricola Baggini, which combines food production with education and social rehabilitation. The next steps of the project involve stakeholder meetings to develop a new job profile: motivator for self-sufficiency.
