Since the end of April, the centre for self-directed learning offers 117 short videos. We prepared them based on the concept of micro learning, where the content is divided into smaller complete and independent units. These units can be used by an individual to acquire new knowledge, to refresh or update already acquired knowledge or to quickly solve a problem that occurs during a task. The units can be in the form of short videos, info-graphics, games, animated videos, quizzes, etc.
70 videos at the centre for self-directed learning are focused on learning to use a computer. They cover the following basic subjects: how do computers work, text writing and editing, using the internet and e-mail, computer as a digital tool, music and films on a computer, other multimedia tools (most of the videos are compatible with the proposed programmes Computer literacy for adults from 2014). The videos (in Slovenian) can be accessed via this link.
47 videos show how to use a smart phone. We tried to cover the main smart phone functions that are often used. The videos were made with a Huawei phone with Android OS, but can also be used for phones by other manufacturers and with other Android versions. The videos cover the following subjects: phone settings, first steps, calls and contacts, messaging and e-mail, camera and gallery, music and videos, programmes.
We also prepared two short sets of instructions on how to use the videos on computer use and how to use the videos on smart phone use. The videos are posted on our YouTube channel in such a way that the quick access panel on the right shows all the other videos from the same basic field or set. After the end of one video, the next video from the same set starts playing automatically.
