Traditionally EPALE Regional Conference happens every year in cooperation with national EPALE support teams from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia. This year, the Regional Conference took place online on 22nd and 23rd November and focused on “Developing Digital Adult Competences to Increase Access to Education.” The purpose of the conference was to stimulate a discussion on the development of digital competences in adult education in the region and the exchange of good practices and cooperation in this field.
During the two days of the conference we were able to follow interesting plenary lectures and participate in interactive workshops, performed by distinguished experts from participating countries in the region. They have presented their experiences and results of research in the field of digital competences in adult education, and also examples of good practice from their countries that occurred in the past period as well as launched initiatives and programs to develop digital skills in adults.
Participants in the 5th EPALE Regional Conference were also able to follow a keynote speaker Mark Kelly, Digital Inclusive Coordinator at AnCosan, Virtual Community College, Dublin, Ireland. He introduced us to an integrated approach to the development of digital competencies and digital integration tools used by AnCosan.
Strengthening cooperation and exchange of good practice at the regional level, which is one of the key objectives of this year’s conference, led us to the launch of a Community of practice, a cooperative space on the EPALE platform entitled: Obrazovanje u regiji/Izobraževanje odraslih v regiji (BA, HR, ME, MK, SI, RS). In this group all materials from the conference and presentations is published, as well as videos from the conference.
A video of the first day of the regional conference, when plenary lecture of the keynote speakers took place, is available on the regional conference website.
