Over the past year, almost every individual has faced various challenges, opportunities and changes. Therefore, we decided to collaborate with participants from multiple educational programmes to create a journal. The theme encouraged individuals to consider how different life experiences have helped them progress.
Various target groups of participants were involved in the project. Beautiful, emotional writings and testimonies emerged from the pens and pencils, including those of foreigners enrolled in Slovenian language courses who are starting a new life in Slovenia. Retirees enthusiastically shared writings about their life experiences. We also invited children to write, and their sincere writings created a conglomerate of joy and happiness. We discussed with them the importance of handwriting for healthy brain development.
The project’s final product is the Journal – The Record of Time About Us. It summarises the events, experiences and feelings that have affected the participants in the past year. The writings show how everything is transient, both the good and the bad. Only experiences and insights remain, which – written by hand – have a unique power of their own.
