Knowledge, skills and competencies are our greatest treasures, and no one can take them away from us. The importance of acquiring them at all levels and throughout all stages of life is one of the guiding principles of the project titled Awareness-raising for LL, communicating with different audiences and encouraging greater involvement in lifelong learning. This project is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Social Fund Plus. The SIAE, in collaboration with 12 regional coordinators, will carry out the project until October 2028. It is an enhancement of previous efforts, such as the LLW, Learning Parade, Days of Slovenian Guidance Centres and other initiatives aimed at raising awareness of lifelong learning.
The project is represented by the slogan Lahko.si, which translates to ‘You can become whoever you want‘ in Slovenian. It is based on the universal and timeless truth that, as long as we live, we create our future. Lifelong learning leads to a better tomorrow. Therefore, Lahko.si is not just a slogan; it is an opportunity to raise the awareness of the presence, accessibility and transformative power of learning. In a rapidly changing society, adaptation, critical thinking and upgrading of skills are of paramount importance.
The project will invite all citizens to join the movement of lifelong learning, acquiring new knowledge and skills while highlighting the potential that lies within each individual.
What do we aim to achieve?
- To strengthen the general awareness among all adults of the importance of learning, change the learning culture in Slovenia and overcome stereotypical ideas about what learning is and what it is for.
- To foster a positive attitude towards lifelong learning, which brings progress on a personal, social and professional level.
- To enhance the recognition and reputation of lifelong learning.
- To improve the skills needed to function in modern society and contribute to a positive response to technological, demographic and climate changes.
- To enhance cooperation between adult education providers and other stakeholders at national and local levels.
Over the next five years, we will actively address all adults and specific target groups (older adults, younger adults with lower education levels, migrants and immigrants, prisoners and former prisoners) through various communication channels. We will emphasise that learning throughout adulthood is an opportunity that offers growth. It is accessible in all environments, at one’s own pace and without stress.
What does the project specifically offer?
- A multi-year nationwide media campaign to raise awareness and strengthen the movement for lifelong learning – for the first time in the history of Slovenia!
- A regional network of coordinators (12) who are the voice of the project in the local environment – the project connects Slovenia!
- Fifty new events across Slovenia to raise awareness of the importance of lifelong learning!
- A new web portal, Lahko.si, launched in mid-September, offering interactive content designed to inspire a desire for learning and motivate individuals to take responsibility for their own educational journey and continue their personal and professional development.
- A new social media profile, Lahko.si – a movement that inspires.
