Learning – throughout life and for all areas we venture into, has become a necessity that we cannot and should not avoid. The modern world demands adaptability and equipping ourselves with a wide range of knowledge, skills and competences. What are the knowledge and skills for life and work that are relevant for the present and the future, what do they enable individuals to do, and what do the latter gain from them?

We have also focused on this topic in the Life Skills section (in Slovenian) of the Where to Get Knowledge platform, centring on the themes discussed at the EAAL forums in 2022 and 2023. We have highlighted eight skills that people need to face everyday challenges: green and digital skills, skills for cultural awareness and expression, citizenship, media, personal (emotional) and interpersonal skills, and financial and consumer skills.

We have prepared short presentations and published interesting quotes from experts who are developing this type of literacy in their hearts and minds, thereby empowering themselves and others. We have enriched the portal with video presentations of entrepreneurs and individuals who are working on these skills and contributing to the quality of their own lives and the lives of others in their communities.

On the Where to Get Knowledge platform, more than 300 institutions present their education and training programmes. We have highlighted programmes that enable the acquisition of each of the eight skills. For this purpose, we have created a customised search engine for training programmes. For each of the skills, we analysed the training offer and presented the findings in a final report (in Slovenian).

Visit the Where to Get Knowledge platform and explore the wealth of skills that is all around us. Take a stroll through the ideas we’ve gathered together with experts in the forums. They will be permanently on display. Let them inspire and motivate you in your learning choices, both in your personal and working life.
