Jurij Vega Grammar School Idrija – Idrija Lace School carried out the Lacy Windows to the World project last year as an accredited organisation. The project aimed to strengthen the skills of staff and adult learners at the Idrija Lace School.
We undertook job shadowing activities in Italy and visited a museum in Malta. Two mobilities were carried out in line with the principles of Green Erasmus+.
Staff learning mobility for teaching or training purposes took place with Martina Wolter-Kampmann, a lace-making instructor in Germany.
The project activities included group mobility for adult learners. Members of the experimental lace-making group from the Idrija Lace School collaborated with their peers in Austria. In St Stephen’s Cathedral, located in the heart of Vienna, the Korona vrtnica (Corona Rose) by Eva Petrič is on display, with a significant portion of the lacework contributed by mobility participants.
Lace-making pattern: Lacy Window to the World
Through the implementation of Erasmus+ mobilities, we are enriching the treasury of lace-making patterns. We also made a pattern and video tutorial for creating a lacy window available on our website.
