The 2024 EPALE Community Stories initiative has brought together a rich collection of narratives from across Europe, including Slovenia. These stories showcase how ALE can profoundly transform individuals, families and entire communities. We are thrilled to share two inspiring Slovenian stories with you!

The first story, written by Vera Mlinar from the SIAE, tells of her lifelong passion for teaching, a dream she nurtured since childhood. The second, written by Borjana Koželj – a geography and history teacher and President of the U3A Škofja Loka – highlights the role of adult education in combating dementia and maintaining mental health.

You are also invited to explore remarkable stories from experts across Europe. These narratives offer fresh perspectives on your work and inspiration, shedding light on personal growth, enhanced employability and more significant inclusion in societal activities. As the autumn days grow colder and wetter, these stories provide just the inspiration we need. We invite you to read the stories now. May they inspire and support you in your work and development at ALE.

All of this year’s community stories are published in a compendium publication.
