Planning and implementation are already underway – both at the SIAE, where we serve as the national LLW coordinator, and at institutions that will take on the role of regional or thematic coordinators. We have already convened twice to define the key starting points for planning LLW and the LP 2025.
The dates for LLW 2025 have now been confirmed: events will take place from 12 May to 15 June. During our first meeting, an online vote by LLW coordinators determined that the LP will take place on Wednesday, 21 May. At the same time, let us not forget last year’s efforts, which are presented in the comprehensive document Analysis and Report on LLW 2024 (available in Slovenian).

Exciting updates

On 15 May, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of LLW with a central event at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons Hotel. The event is being organised in close collaboration with our long-standing partners, LLW coordinators and event organisers. The event will consist of four segments. The morning session will be dedicated to the 29th Adult Education Colloquium, the main national professional gathering for LLW. This session will explore the connection between peace and ALE, with the slogan Embracing Pacifism.

The remaining three programme segments will be presented under the slogan People for People, and among other aspects will feature a tribute to the coordinators and organisers of LLW over the past 30 years.

LLW 2025 will centre around values

Prvi pripravljalni sestanek

A significant change in this year’s LLW is the replacement of previous joint actions and themes with five core values and their accompanying subthemes. Within this framework, coordinators and organisers are encouraged to shape their content and design their events in unique and creative ways. These values are rooted in those long established in the LLW Identity Card, enriched with insights from the EAAL 2022–2023 Forums on Skills for Life and shaped by current socio-economic trends.

The LLW 2025 core values are:

  1. Cultivation, Knowledge and Skills, with subthemes of Curiosity, Openness to Learning and Creative Spark, Culture and Expression, The Power of Reading and Communication.
  2. Peace and Equality, with subthemes of Equal Opportunities for All, Active Intergenerational and Cultural Integration and Responsible Citizenship.
  3. Physical and Mental Well-being, with subthemes of A Sound Mind in a Sound Body, Personal Growth and The Vulnerable for the Vulnerable.
  4. Modernity and Progress, with subthemes of Sustainability for Future Generations, Ethics, Media and the Digital World, Talents, Knowledge and Skills for the Labour Market.
  5. Community in Harmony, with subthemes of Coexistence and Mutual Learning, Solidarity and Volunteering and Innovative Learning Environments.

Brief descriptions of these values are available on the LLW website homepage and under the Themes/Values section (in Slovenian).

The Learning Parade – A Day of Learning Communities and the Guest Network Initiative: Quality Day will remain a joint action of the LLW 2025.

Our long-standing external designer, David Fartek, has also refreshed the LLW 2025 visual identity. Key elements of the new design are available on the website.

The coexistence of the LLW 2025 project and the Lahko.si campaign

The implementation of LLW 2025 will run parallel to the project titled Raising Awareness, Communicating with Different Audiences and Encouraging Greater Involvement in Lifelong Learning, or in short, Awareness-Raising for Lifelong Learning. This project is funded by the European Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 (ECP+) for the period 2023–2028. The most visible part of the project is the Lahko.si media campaign.

As part of this initiative, the SIAE Awards for outstanding achievements in lifelong learning has been renewed. Twelve regional award recipients have been selected and will be presented in the final segment of the central event celebrating 30 Years of LLW on 15 May. During LLW, the general public will be invited to vote online and select the Best Lifelong Learning Story from among the regional awardees. The winning story will be revealed live at an event on 16 June.
